About the Role:

Job Summary

Primarily assist the Director of GME Research in the facilitation and maintenance of a robust and sustainable GME research environment which engages and supports residents and their faculty throughout the research cycle. Performs duties with latitude for independent judgment and decision-making; performs a variety of complicated tasks within the department. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

 

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Licensure or other certifications: CITI biomedical research certification
  • Educational Requirements: Masters Degree
  • Minimum Experience: One (1) year of experience health or health education research field, or evidence of a completed research dissertation
  • Other: Masters Degree (with research or dissertation component) in Health Sciences, Educational research, life sciences, MBA

If, in the normal course of my duties and responsibilities, I am required to access protected health information (PHI) and electronic protected health information (EPHI) for the purposes of treatment, payment and operations within Northeast Georgia Health System, I will limit such access to only the minimum necessary amount of PHI and EPHI necessary to perform the functions of my job.  If access is not required in the normal course of my duties and responsibilities, I will not access PHI or EPHI.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, WebEx). Knowledge of LMS Canvas is a plus

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate GME residents/fellows/faculty and staff, in approved research projects through the GME Research Development Processes, ensuring appropriate documentation, data management and federally compliant storage of research documentation.
  • Understands and reviews federal research requirements to be able to conduct ethical informed consent processes for projects.
  • Coordination the collection of faculty scholarly activity and tracking of department metrics to assist the department data developer.
  • Facilitate group discussions at research skills learning sessions.
  • Present at internal and external events - academic presentations and research promotion events.
  • Obtain required approvals for all stages of research projects.
  • Conducts descriptive data analysis for research studies with appropriate tables and figures for presentation/publication.
  • Mentor and teach pipeline and MS4 students as part of department speed research and pipeline initiatives.
  • Collaborate across disciplines, service lines and programs to help research to become expansive and inclusive.
  • Assist in grant application development.
  • Other projects and activities as directed in order to meet department goals.
  • Write a monthly article or blog for website.
  • Assist in website maintenance.
  • Assist in teaching basic statistics and data analytics to stakeholders.
  • Ensures appropriate documentation and reports are available for assigned reports.
