Position: New Graduate Registered Nurse (various shifts available)

Location: Gibbs Cancer Center - First Floor (30-bed unit)

Department: Medical Surgical/Oncology/Palliative Care

About Our Unit: Our Medical Surgical/Oncology/Palliative Care unit awaits you, featuring 30 beds with Central Tele monitoring capability. You'll be providing care to patients with diverse case types, including Hematology Oncology (Leukemia/Lymphoma), Palliative Care, Wound Care, and General Medical Surgical. Our nurses handle an array of medical devices, honing their skills with Drains, NG Tubes, Ostomy Care, and Central Lines (Ports/Pics). You'll have the guidance of our Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, and ADT nurse, led by our experienced and compassionate Nurse Manager with over 13 years of clinical expertise. She started her journey as a RN in Rehab, progressed through Cardiac, and eventually found her passion in Oncology. Her wealth of experience and mentorship will guide you in building a solid foundation as you flourish within our unit.

Your Journey with Us: As a New Graduate Registered Nurse, you will be an essential part of our Transition to Practice program. You'll demonstrate your knowledge and skills in providing professional nursing care, collaborating with the healthcare team, and putting the patient's needs first. Safety is paramount, and you'll work hand-in-hand with fellow team members to ensure positive patient outcomes. Participate in hourly rounding and bedside shift reports, and take pride in your clinical guidance to students and ancillary staff.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing
  • Less than 1 year of RN experience
  • Current R.N. licensure in the state of South Carolina
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC (depending on patient assignment)
