Listed is the base hiring salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to skills and experience. The salary range listed is just one component of the total rewards/compensation package offered to candidates.
Min = $62,613.875
Mid = $78,267.344

Summary:

The Laboratory Information System Analyst performs functions of the Laboratory (LIS) and Anatomic Pathology Information Systems (APLIS) in accordance with regulatory and hospital guidelines as needed to keep systems current and or upgraded including training, interfacing, implementation, system upgrade testing, maintenance and security of systems; Maintains knowledge of policies, procedures, and business operations in a laboratory setting; Participates in regular day-to-day communication with other project teams and works with lab and community based Subject Matter Experts (SME's) to ensure the orders will fit the organizations' and community integration needs. Participates in the development of workflows, data collection and analysis, reporting and other technical issues associated with the use of the laboratory or pathology software; Participates in developing and documenting the standard build procedures that will be used in conjunction with other hospital applications.

Responsibilities:

Maintains Interfaces including ADT interface maintenance & troubleshooting, Billing interface maintenance & troubleshooting, HIS interface, Laboratory and Pathology Instrument Interface Implementation, Interfaces with customers at all levels within the organization to determine laboratory ordering and workflow needs. Trains users in applications and operation system fundamentals to including nursing staff, technical staff, supervisors, support staff and pathologists Assist Lab Information System (LIS) Administrator and Anatomic Pathology Information System Administrator (APLIS) including Projects related to the LIS, APLIS and Hospital Information System (HIS) i.e.. Epic, Coverage during administrator absence, Acting as a liaison with HIS personnel and vendors, Maintaining project status communication with appropriate staff or physicians. Troubleshoots Onsite Issues; Resolves frequently reported computer issues immediately; Coordinates resolution of other issues with the appropriate vendor; Coverage as necessary for the computer system during off hours; Provides on-call consulting advice and technical support; Troubleshoots system and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems. Builds orders within LIS and APLIS to meet YRMC's and regulatory standards, coordinating with other internal and external builders to align with standard practices and documentation; Gathers feedback; Documents workflows. Maintains Hardware and Databases; Tests and validates hardware & operating system upgrades with IT Dept.; Designs and develops system data analysis and data mining tools under guidance of System Administrator; Installs lab networked printers, scanners and point of care equipment. Installs and debugs new and/or upgraded software on server and client platforms, ensuring compliance with current site licenses under guidance of System Administrator; Manages multiple servers, workstations, and terminals, ensuring proper integration of these components with existing computer systems. Other duties as assigned.
