Summary

Position Summary

This role is responsible for the supportive functions of the EMS operation. This employee will work to ensure that all aspects of technology are road ready for use by EMTs in the field.  This includes software and hardware management and maintenance such as 2 way radios, tablets, desktop PCs, cellphones, emergency lights and sirens, and automotive electrical equipment.  This role will assist with various administrative tasks as assigned by the department. Other duties as assigned. This employee should be able to work minimal oversight and be comfortable working from a ticketing system.

Minimum Requirements

 

Education

  • High school graduate or GED

Experience

  • Working knowledge of computer systems and cloud-based data management
  • Working with and troubleshooting communication technology equipment (iPads, laptops, Etc.)
  • Working with Microsoft Office and various operating systems (Windows, iOS, Etc.)

License/Registration/Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Must maintain certifications and specialized trainin

 

Preferred Requirements

 

Preferred Education

  • Associate degree in business, Informational Technology, or
  • Computer Science

Preferred Experience

  • Working knowledge of vehicle electrical systems

Preferred License/Registration/Certifications

  • SLED NCIC certification

  • Evaluate, repair, or replace damaged or defective equipment.
  • Inventory and maintain a working accountability database of items within the department.
  • Troubleshoot and repair connectivity issues within ambulances and work stations.
  • Ability to find innovative ways to resolve issues
  • Manages and utilizes resources across projects; works with functional managers to ensure resource availability
  • Ability to work positively with a wide range of individuals
  • Promotes collaboration, compromise and teamwork among project teams to ensure efficiency of project work
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Exposure Level

 

  Category I - Position includes tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues.

 

  Category II -   Position includes tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, but employment may require performing unplanned category I tasks.

 

  Category III - Position includes tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.  This position would never be required to perform category I tasks.
