Overview

Under the general supervision of the Director of Information Systems, assumes implementation and on-going responsibilities for all financial software applications. Applies structured analysis and design techniques to operational requirements of each application. Analyzes software application, system performance and user department's workflow. Ensures functional requirements of the hospital are met via the computer software.

Responsibilities

Acts as liaison between departments and Information Systems for assigned application related requirements. Assists user in determining needs or requirements by collecting information and interviewing departmental personnel to ascertain possible solutions. Performs in conjunction with the user department analysis resulting in functional specifications. Prepares detailed functional specifications for all issues/requests for modification to be provided to vendors for resolution. Assist in identification and resolution of system issues. Maintain tracking system of all user issues. Review issues with applications areas on a regular basis to support departmental needs. Analyze all software problems and work with software vendors as necessary to resolve any operational difficulties. Act as primary contact for software vendors. Demonstrates system and trains key trainers on use of new and/or existing systems. Assist users in defining report requirements to be filled by standard system-generated reports or custom reports generated by Information Systems. Assists in determining procedural requirements for the system and assists departments in writing and implementing system policies and procedures. Prepares and maintains work plans for new system implementations, major projects and upgrades assigned to them. Manages the projects and tracks status and deliverables, identifies overruns and manages agreed-upon deadlines. Identify project objectives. Coordinates all system testing activities and assists in testing of system enhancements and modifications prior to implementation. Documents the responsibilities and verification of testing. Works with user departments to develop test scenarios and strategies for system enhancements and modifications to existing systems. Defines user responsibilities and verification of testing. Develops conversion and live plans, reviews and explains plans to hospital personnel who are impacted. Supports user in definition and modification of master files, control files, and profiles unique to each application and provides impact analysis of any changes. The System and Network Analysts work together effectively to implement and maintain computer environments and interfaces. Provide development of downtime and extended (unplanned) downtime procedures for each area. Assists users with data recovery as necessary. Responsible for maintaining assigned applications up to most recent software release.

Qualifications

SMS Invision experience - minimum 2 years. Previous leadership experience - minimum two years. Previous P.C. or computer experience. Knowledge and/or computer ability in a healthcare setting.

Education

Essential:
* High school graduate or equivalent
