Position Summary
Position Summary
The Central Patient Transport Supervisor assists Managers in assessing and assigning work throughout the hospital. Works along with staff daily (80%).
Minimum Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- 2 years management experience in related field
- Must be able to adjust communication, both verbal and nonverbal, to interact appropriately and effectively with a wide variety of age group (including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics)
License/Registration/Certifications
- CPR Certification (on the job training and certification)
Preferred Requirements
Preferred Education
- BS, BA, Masters
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years management experience in a related field
Preferred License/Registration/Certifications
- N/A
Core Job Responsibilities
- Operates all hospital equipment related to Central Patient Transport.
- Produces and maintains discussion planner and other documentation of work performance.
- Assists managers with evaluations and other performance related material.
- Interacts with patient and families based on knowledge of periods of growth and development.
- Must be able to withstand stress and demands of active position.
- Must be able to withstand long hours of standing, stooping, bending, and sitting.
- Must be able to lift and move heavy objects/patients (50 lbs).
- Must have manual dexterity and adequate vision to perform job.
- Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
- Must be able to respond calmly and efficiently in a crisis situation.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to relate to individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds throughout the hospital.
- Must be able to work without constant supervision.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all patient populations ranging from pediatric through geriatric.
- Other duties as assigned.
