Job Description

Overview

Supports department of Anatomic Pathology with various clerical tasks related to Surgical Pathology reports. Works closely with pathologists and pathology team.

Responsibilities

Creates and manages surgical pathology report addendums and amendments for pathologists. Performs entering and editing of relevant clinical history and part types into pathology reports. Coordinates the tumor conference setup and schedules for multiple weekly conferences. Works with pathology group billing company to securely and accurately provide professional billing information. Able to communicate effectively for all pathology needs including physician offices, operating rooms, nursing supervisors, other health systems, as well as cancer centers

Qualifications

Education requirement: High School

Education Preferred: Associates

Work Experience required: 3-5 years’ experience in medical office, pathology transcription, or pathology laboratory
