Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Processes all requests for supply distribution.  Makes appropriate disposition of all pertinent documentation.  Receives all material (except items ordered directly by Nutritional Services and the Pharmacy) on a daily basis.  Makes the proper disposition of all non-stock and stock items as well as all associated paperwork. Responsible for the preparation and shipment of outgoing packages.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  1. High School Diploma

Experience:

  1. Prior experience in supply change management preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  1. Demonstrates the ability to read, add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentages with accuracy.

License/Certification/Registration:

  1. Possesses a valid driver's license.

Receives direct supervision from the Logistics Manager.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Performs all duties relative to the inventory, restocking, and distribution of par stock areas in an acceptable and satisfactory manner.
    1. Inventories supplies held on specified units with the aid of hand-held devices.
    2. Transmits reorder information to Supply Distribution.
    3. Pulls necessary supplies for replenishment to return stock to designated par levels.
    4. Assists the Logistics Supervisor in adjusting inventory and pars to their optimal levels.
    5. Performs calculations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to determine product unit of issue.
    6. Performs percentage calculations to adjust inventory and pars to the optimal levels.
  2. Maintains Supply Distribution inventory as required.
    1. Requisitions supplies from Materials Management necessary to maintain required inventory levels in storeroom.
    2. Rotates supplies and stocks shelves as necessary.
    3. Delivers special order and non-par level items to requesting units as required.
    4. Fills all department requisitions within 48 hours of receipt.
  3. Makes appropriate disposition of all paperwork.
    1. After delivery of material, returns requisition for computer input.
    2. Notifies supervisory personnel of items either out of stock or in short supply.
  4. Maintains all work areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
    1. Keeps supplies in a neat and orderly fashion.
    2. Keeps shelves clean of any unnecessary packaging.
    3. Sweeps area on a daily basis.
    4. Keeps aisles and work area clean of packages and debris.
  5. Assists with cycle counts and annual inventories as required.
  6. Rotates to holidays, weekends, and other shifts depending on Medical Center supply requirements.
  7. Maintains inventory record accuracy.
  8. Receives all material delivered to the Medical Center except Nutritional Services and Pharmaceutical.
    1. Verifies, at the time of delivery, that the material to be received is material destined for Mount Nittany Medical Center.
    2. Verifies that the number of packages received is the number of packages signed for.
    3. Verifies that all materials received are in an undamaged condition.
    4. Files receipt paperwork on a daily basis.
    5. Uses fork truck to unload, load, move, and put away large heavy items.
  9. Makes proper disposition of non-materials management items received daily.
    1. Delivers all packages received by expedited services within three (3) hours of delivery to the ordering department.
    2. Delivers all non-stock items to the ordering department daily.
    3. Delivers all packages marked perishable or refrigerates within one (1) hour of delivery.
  10. Makes proper disposition of stock items.
    1. Opens all packages to check contents against the purchase order and verifies condition of material.
    2. Places all stock items in their proper locations within twenty (24) hours of delivery.
  11. Prepares packages for shipment from the Medical Center.
    1. Packs and labels packages for safe shipment from the Medical Center.
    2. Prepares shipping documentation for the appropriate carriers.
    3. Logs outgoing packages.
  12. Performs all duties relative to the stocking and distribution of supplies for the CMSB Site.
    1. Operates a shuttle truck for the pick-up and delivery of supplies to the Medical Center and CMSB Site.
    2. Delivers and picks up case carts from the Surgical Center within designated time frames.
    3. Delivers supplies and picks up material required for transport.
    4. Moves trash as needed at the Surgical Center.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs related and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
