Description
This will be a full-time 100% career position in the Department of Neurosurgery in the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. The Staff Research Associate II position is immediately available in the laboratory of the Principal Investigator in the UCLA Department of Neurosurgery, to study how stimulation of the spinal cord improves motor function and facilitates recovery of motor function following spinal cord injury (SCI). Qualified candidate should have background in the scientific method, data analysis, and statistics. The individual will assist and coordinate human experiments. Additionally, the ability to learn rehabilitation skills of spinal cord injured individuals are highly sought. Training will be a continuous feature of this position. The researcher will be working on innovative research and as such will learn new techniques as they apply to emerging projects and train other research personnel, as necessary. Administrative work will be required, including maintenance of records, approval of protocols, laboratory maintenance, scheduling of experiments, training volunteers, assisting with maintaining IRB and coordinating subject appointments with administrative assistants. We are seeking independent, motivated individual with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Salary Range: $28.04 – $45.11 Hourly
