Job Requirements
Position Summary 

The Simulation Operations Specialist is responsible for high quality support to a wide range of simulation-based activities to ensure educational goals and outcomes are accomplished within the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.  The Simulation Operations Specialist works closely with the Simulation Program Manager and Nursing Clinical Educators to produce high-quality education activities.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

Education

·         High School Diploma

 

Experience

·         6 months healthcare setting experience and/or technology experience

 

License/Registration/Certifications       

·         Current American Heart Basic Life Support (obtain within 30 days of hire)

 

Preferred Requirements

 

Preferred Education

·         Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or technical school in a health or technology related field.

 

Preferred Experience

·         6 months simulation Center experience

 

Preferred License/Registration/Certifications   

·         Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS)

 

 

Core Job Responsibilities

 

·         Operates, maintains, and provides support for center equipment, audio/visual, computer, and materials related to simulation learning in the healthcare setting

·         Supports/assists in role playing applications, props placement, and moulage set-up to create a virtual health care environment and experience

·         Assists with tours and simulation sessions for internal/external groups and/or individuals

·         Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment needed for simulation

·         Assist with scheduling for simulation and skills rooms

·         Monitors cost-effective use of human and material resources

·         Assists with data collection and generates utilization reports as requested

·         Maintain confidentiality

·         Effective communication/interpersonal skills demonstrated during interaction with people of varying personalities, cultures, and professional disciplines

·         Proficient using MS Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

·         Other duties as assigned
