Overview

The pharmacy compliance coordinator will ensure compliance with the Joint Commission medication management standards and the Delaware Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations. Works in conjunction with the pharmacy director to ensure policies are reviewed, revised, updated, and submitted to the FPAC committee. Manages and reports findings of narcotic audits and USP 797/800 processes and ensures staff competencies. Acts as Beebe's Designated Person as required by USP 797. Reviews medical records to ensure appropriate billing and assists in auditing. Supports pharmacy software access for pharmacy and nursing staff and oversees automated dispensing cabinet optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews policies and procedures and manages FPAC submissions
  • Uploads, monitors, and manages controlled substance auditing software
  • Assigns access for pharmacy information systems such as Medkeeper, ControlCheck, Kitcheck, Dr. First, and Hospital Pharmacist Letter
  • Monitors access to the controlled substance rooms
  • Develops and implements pharmacy standard operating procedures for sterile compounding and pharmacy operations
  • Member of the pharmacy opioid stewardship committee and the controlled substance diversion prevention program
  • Designated person for ensuring USP 797 compliance
  • Deems staff competence in pharmacy operations and sterile compounding
  • Liaison between the pharmacy and patient financial services for patient billing
  • Part of the pharmacy interviewing team for new pharmacist candidates
  • Maintains competency as a Pharmacist I
  • Complies with hospital and pharmacy policies and procedures

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

    • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) with minimum of 2 years of hospital management or supervisor experience
    • Registered Pharmacist (RPh) with a minimum of 5 years hospital experience or 2 years of hospital management or supervisor experience
    • Graduate from an accredited College or University of Pharmacy

Preferred Experience/Skills: Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR), Aria/Varian, OASgold, Microsoft Office, MedKeeper, Kitcheck, RxStation, Dr. First

Credentials/Licensure/Certification: Delaware Pharmacist License
