Summary

Position Summary

Accurately and efficiently transports patients, wheelchairs, and stretchers to and from nursing units and ancillary departments. Uses transport equipment correctly. Cleans transportation equipment, participates in transportation equipment maintenance. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the mission and vison of Spartanburg Medical Center.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • CPR Certification (on the job training and certification)

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Safely transporting patients within the hospitals
  • Properly sanitizing all transport equipment.
  • Moving within assigned areas and throughout the Medical Center as necessary
  • May require moderate to heavy lifting
  • Ability to stand, walk and/or bend for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to discharge/transfer patients and push wheelchairs and stretchers.
  • Must be able to manipulate equipment.
