Summary

Position Summary

Responsible for the daily supervision of a multi-county transportation service.  Responsible for quality assurance and review of client transports.  Must interact with all levels of Medical Center Staff and Administration as well as with contract entities and County Representatives. Monitors and enforces all Medical Center policies and procedures, acting as necessary.  Monitors and provides reports on Transit Vehicle Fleet Status.  Responsible for report generation and data collection as necessary.  Responsible for departmental budget preparation and operations. Responsible for ensuring all submission deadlines for Federally funded Transit and SC Department of Transportation Grants.  Responsible for verification and submission of all related annual data elements. Ensures all Department related certifications and licensure are current to maintain Grant recipient status from SCDOT and FTA.

Minimum Requirements

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management or Health Services

 

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ management experience
  • Familiar with grant data preparation, submissions, and public presentation for local, state, and federal funding proposals.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications, (data base, report generation, spread sheets, etc.)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with a transportation delivery system.

 

License/Registration/Certifications       

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • No criminal history that would interfere with job duties
  • State or National Certification as a Transit Manager-Desirable

Core Job Responsibilities

 

  • Develops and employs a working understanding of Federal and State regulations and guidance impacting funding and reporting for FTA and SCDOT Grants.  Additionally, must be able to interpret FTA and SCDOT regulations and apply those principals into budget development, and billing submission documents.
  • Responsible for collection and participation in developing annual Grant Budgets
  • Supervise Route Coordinator and Operations Coordinator to ensure adequate staffing and route structure exists.
  • Respond to complaints, investigate accidents and incidents, and then prepare summaries for action to Director
  • Monitor Department Budgets to ensure compliance and to report variances and action plans to correct negative variances.
