Position Summary:
Responsible for the management and oversight of effective hospital-wide and critical information technology operations in compute and storage systems, electronic mail, data backup and recovery, telephony infrastructure, systems and devices, remote access, and, virtualization. Ensures data and systems are secure, backed up, recoverable, available, and effectively maintained to support hospital operations and patient care. Manages a high performing team by providing guidance, direction, and mentorship.

Knowledge of:
Principles and practices of employee supervision, including selection, work planning, organization, performance review and evaluation, and employee training and discipline; project management principles and practices; operational capabilities of enterprise-class computing environments; hardware and software options and availability for various business, administrative, communications and technical applications; system software and hardware installation; data and voice network management; storage management; virtualization; cloud-based computing; principles and practices of developing teams, motivating employees and managing in a team environment; job planning, prioritizing and scheduling techniques; techniques for dealing with staff at various levels, in person and over the telephone; department and hospital safety practice and procedures; patient rights; age specific patient care practices; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.Skill in:

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, stamina to remain seated and maintain concentration for extended periods of time, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
