Description

Take on a summer internship opportunity within a world-class health organization at our Department of Computational Medicine at UCLA. The department provides a hub for collaborations across the UCLA campus to enable scientific discovery in biomedical data sciences and then works hand in hand with the UCLA Health System to apply these discoveries to improve patient care.  Within UCLA’s campus lies a prestigious medical school, a world-class research hospital, and nationally-ranked departments within the engineering school with significant strength in data sciences.

The Bruins in Genomics (BIG) Summer Data Scientist will assist with programming/data functions for engineering laboratory in computational genomics in a ten week, limited summer capacity.   In this role, you will assist the Principal Investigator and lab staff with entry level coding, provide support with data entry databases and validate for errors, and assist in the design of computational study databases.  You will also review genomics coding and note errors for review, run reports for lab staff, provide documentation of lab work, and participate in lab meetings.

Please note that this is a 10-week program/limited appointment.

Salary Range: $31.03 – $65.90 Hourly
