Content Writer
Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Content Writer will have a strong background in healthcare writing, an understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to translate complex healthcare topics into clear, accessible content. This position will be responsible for creating a variety of content, including web content, blog posts, educational materials, digital and printed ads. This position will also manage existing freelance writing partnerships and will lead the content marketing strategy.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
1) Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2) Preference will be given to graduates in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
Experience:
1) Five or more years’ experience in writing, marketing and communications for large organizations with formal brand structures.
2) Experience with developing and implementing content strategy.
3) Experience working in an agency and/or managing freelancers for various projects.
4) Experience in writing for digital ads, print and web.
5) Healthcare experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
1) Understanding of Healthcare Industry Regulations: Knowledge of HIPAA, FDA regulations, and other relevant healthcare policies to ensure compliance in content creation.
2) Medical Terminology Proficiency: Familiarity with medical terms, procedures, and healthcare-related concepts to communicate effectively within the industry.
3) Content Strategy Development: Ability to create and implement content strategies that cater to various healthcare audiences (patients, healthcare professionals, caregivers).
4) SEO Best Practices: Strong understanding of search engine optimization techniques, particularly in the context of healthcare, to improve content visibility and reach.
5) Strong Writing and Editing Skills: Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and engaging content, with excellent editing and proofreading abilities.
6) Adaptability: Flexibility in adjusting writing style, tone, and complexity to suit different target audiences, such as patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
7) Content Management System (CMS) Proficiency: Experience with using CMS platforms to upload, edit, and manage content on websites and blogs.
8) Effective Research Skills: Ability to conduct thorough research, assess scientific data, and extract key insights to produce accurate, well-informed healthcare content.
9) Time Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple writing assignments effectively and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
10) Clear Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with team members, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders.
11) Attention to Detail: A keen eye for accuracy, ensuring content is factually correct, free of errors, and aligns with industry standards.
12) Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex healthcare topics and provide well-reasoned, balanced perspectives in content creation.
13) Audience Engagement: Skill in writing compelling content that resonates with diverse healthcare audiences, encouraging education, awareness, and action.
14) Compliance Adherence: Ability to write content in line with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards specific to healthcare.
15) Multitasking and Prioritization: Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining content quality.
16) Collaboration Skills: Strong ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals, subject matter experts, designers, and other team members to ensure content accuracy and effectiveness.

3) Collaborate with subject matter experts, healthcare professionals, digital and marketing strategists to ensure content quality.
4) Adhere to established content guidelines, ensuring consistency and alignment with brand voice.
5) Stay up to date on healthcare trends, medical breakthroughs, and regulatory changes.
6) Optimize content for SEO and user engagement.
7) Review and revise content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
