Summary:
The job of Security Shift leader is to provide leadership to subordinates in order that departmental safety/security and service objectives are met. These objectives are the appropriate loss prevention program of patients, visitors, employees, and BH properties. Further, to control traffic, assist in maintenance of safety, fire disaster, and riot control that might occur on the property.
Armed Captains or SL's will respond to all crimes or acts of violence, including active shooting incidents, toward the patient, guest and staff and will coordinate with law enforcement during those occurrences. Additionally, the armed Captain's or SL's will have oversight and supervision of the armed SOII and SOIII and FTO officers. Armed Captains or SL's will report to the Major/Manager any deficiencies in training or policy applications and will forward any documentation such as verbal counseling or write ups immediately to the Major/Manager.
Other information:
1. Be at least 21 years of age;
2. High school graduate or GED preferred;
3. Able to pass a criminal background performed by the Arkansas State Police
4. Be able to pass a psychological exam
5. Be able to pass a department approved physical fitness assessment
6. Be interviewed by a panel 7. Must have a current Arkansas Driver's license (military may have a license from their home state) and pass a driver's license check in accordance with the Baptist Health Insurance guidelines;
8. Able to meet the state qualifications to obtain and maintain a security credential;
9. Must not use any nicotine or tobacco products in any form while on Baptist Health property;
10. Consistantly complete required training to include state mandated training, defensive tactics, MOAB, Oleorsin Capsicum, MRI safety, restraints, PPE, CPR, and signed off on all officer posts for the campus assiged."
11. Been a member of the Baptist Health Security department for a minimum of 1 year and based leadership performance with administrative exception; 12. Demonstrate an advanced knowledge of security post orders and policies as well as BH rules, regulations, and procedures;
12. Armed Security Captains must pass the 40 hrs required firearms training (mandated (16 hrs) firearms training plus another 24 hrs of Baptist Health required firearm training) to include weapons retention; 13. Armed Security Captains must attend 40 hrs annually of required firearms training
14. Armed Security Captains must pass a yearly firearm qualification with an 80% minimum score.
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
