Advanced Practice Providers
We have been steadily adding advanced practice providers and now have close to 500 within the organization. APPs are supported by physician colleagues and treated respectfully — you won't hear "mid-level provider" used here, as we do not provide mid-level care. We have a great group of APPs in hospital medicine and advocates for APPs throughout the organization.
- Advanced practice providers are integrated into our medical staff and are voting members.
- We offer new graduate APPs a Transition to Practice Program based on their specialty, and all APPs participate in an onboarding program.
- MetroHealth also sponsors two APP conferences annually for continuing education.
- We have roles for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses across our system, as well as Physician Assistants in areas including Neurosurgery and Trauma, Emergency Department and Emergency General Surgery.
