Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Performs and processes radiographic (including portables) and fluoroscopic radiology tests.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Graduate of accredited Radiology Technologist program.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a radiology technician preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Basic computer operational skills.
- Strength required to assist with lifting, moving, and positioning of patients, moving equipment, and handling supplies.
- Ability to work well with others and have a positive attitude when working with individuals who may be under physical or emotional stress.
- Ability to hear verbal communications, to read and interpret orders, and document data correctly
License/Certification/Registration:
- Current certification as a radiology technician.
- Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Receives minimal supervision from the Manager Surgical Center and Nursing Supervisor.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs radiological tests as scheduled or requested with appropriate skill and in a timely manner. Has working knowledge of all equipment.
- Obtains images using appropriate equipment. Knows how to transfer images to PACs .
- Documents tests and procedures via computer.
- Assists with office functions, clinical functions, helps anesthesia aide, works with materials management, performs pregnancy tests, EKG’s, BSG’s, assists with case cart checks, assists with room turnovers and phase II beds, assists with putting away supplies from the OR cases and supplies in the receiving room and opens sterile supplies under the direct supervision of the RN/ST.
- Monitors radiology supplies, equipment certification, keeps a lead apron log, reports malfunctions, and oversees routine equipment maintenance.
- Checks the OR schedule daily and works with the Clinical Supervisor and Nurse Manager to provide radiology or other clinical/office coverage as needed.
- Possesses knowledge of aseptic technique in regards to performing tests during surgery.
- Maintains confidentiality of all records and information received in the course of work activities.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs related and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
