Directs, administers, and has overall strategic and executive responsibility for the internal operational activities in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives for the following hospital services: Business Development and Strategy; Enterprise Project Management; Process Improvement; Fundraising (Grants and Foundation); Government Relations; Military Medicine; Academic Affairs and Medical School Relations, and other departments as assigned. Serves as a member of the UMC executive team. Provides advice and counsel to the Chief Executive Officer and executive colleagues regarding organization-wide decisions and issues.

Job Requirement
Education/Experience:
Equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Business, Management, or a closely related field, and 20 years of executive management experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:
ACHE Fellow
Additional Position Requirements
Priority consideration will be given to candidates who have the following experience requirements DOCUMENTED in their APPLICATION:- 20+ years of current experience within an executive leadership role (e.g., CEO, COO, CAO, CFO) within an acute care hospital setting.
- Executive leadership role within an Academic Medical Center and Public entity (i.e., Governmental).
- Leadership experience and oversight of classifications represented by a Union.
- Leadership experience within organizations with large employee populations (5,000 or more employees).

Knowledge of:Health care industry and hospital practices; federal, state, local and accreditation laws, standards and practices; hospital safety practices and procedures; patient rights; quality management and performance improvement strategies; business practices, such as purchasing, marketing, performance measurement, etc.; principles and practices associated with managing a large complex organization; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures; age specific patient care practices.Skill in:
Providing leadership; making effective decisions; developing positive employee relations; negotiating; performing strategic planning and goal setting; solving problems; using computers and a variety of software applications; allocating resources; supervising professional management staff; communicating effectively in both oral and written forms; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, stamina to remain seated and maintain concentration for extended periods of time, vision to read computer screen and printed documents, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. Stamina to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
