Description

 

This position will support the South Bay Region. The South Bay Region is currently made up of UCLA Health Manhattan Beach Imaging and Interventional Center, Palos Verdes Imaging and Interventional Center, UCLA Health Redondo Beach Primary Specialty Clinic, UCLA Health Torrance/Lomita Primary Specialty Center and our partnership with Martin Luther King Hospital. This position participates in on-call and holiday schedules, prepared by the manager, that supports one of the medical centers in the UCLA Health system. Additionally, participation in rotating shifts is required, as needed.

In this role, you will:

 

    • Provide age-appropriate assessment and interventions in order to meet the needs of patients and families served
    • Obtain, evaluate and use information from the patient requisition, medical records, referring physician and correlate with acquired images
    • Use cognitive sonographic skills, to identify and differentiate anatomy and pathology
    • Use independent judgement to produce diagnostic images of human anatomy utilizing diagnostic ultrasound systems for our referring providers and our interpreting physicians
    • Extend courtesy to our patients, family members, visitors and co-workers through our “World Class Practices” Service Standards

 

Internal candidates will be placed according to their Active/Current career ladder level.

 

External Candidates:

 

Staff Sonographer:

 

    • One to two years experience within the hospital / acute care setting
    • Must maintain active RDMS certification in one specialty, i.e. Abdomen or OB-GYN
    • Graduate of CAAHAP accredited ultrasound program is strongly preferred
    • Salary Range: $58.74 – $77.50 Hourly

 

Senior Sonographer (Advancement into Senior Sonographer job classification can be assessed after 6 months with UCLA Health):

 

    • Minimum of four years of prior experience within the hospital / acute care setting
    • Must maintain Active RDMS certification in three specialties: Abdomen, OB-GYN and RVT
    • Proficient in Abdomen, OB/Gyn, Pediatric and Vascular Sonography.  Additionally, proficiency in interventional procedures
    • Graduate of CAAHAP accredited ultrasound school is strongly preferred
    • Salary Range: $65.55 – $79.93 Hourly

 

Salary Range (Staff through Senior): $58.74 – $79.93 Hourly
