Position Description

Provides advance technical, logistical, training, and fiscal support to Pharmacist.

Major/Essential Functions

• Receives, interprets, enters into computer, and prepares prescription orders for checking by the pharmacists.
• Maintains drug and supply inventory for the pharmacy.
• Maintains controlled substance inventory records.
• Supports pharmacy quality assurance program.
• Triage department information inquiries (answering telephones)
• Maintains confidential records and files.
• Performs other duties of a certified technician.

Occasional Duties

Performs duties that may be assigned by the pharmacist

Required Qualifications

Education: A minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent. License/Certification: Required by the State of Texas to have passed the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam. Experience: At least three years experience as a pharmacy technician.
