Accounting Specialist

Listed is the base hiring salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to skills and experience. The salary range listed is just one component of the total rewards/compensation package offered to candidates.
Min = $19.08
Mid = $23.37
Max = $27.66
Summary:
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for financial activities such as general ledger journal entries, reconciliations of accounts associated with this position and assisting with the month end close; serves as one of the points of contact for cash handling and training throughout the organization; monitors daily banking activities, check clearing for positive pay, daily reconciliations of bank accounts; prepares check requests for accounting department, check payments and EFT payments and responding to inquiries from both in internal and external customers.
Responsibilities:
Reconciles balance sheet accounts assigned and resolves accounting discrepancies and irregularities by collecting and analyzing account information.
Downloads daily revenue totals from patient collection software and uploads to general ledger.
Assists Sr. Accounting Specialist with concentration account balancing, and serves as backup.
Prepares journal entries to support the month end close process.
Assists Financial Accountants and Supervisors, as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
Essential:
* HS DIPLOMA/GED
Other information:
Minimum Education:
HS Equivalency Diploma
Preferred Education:
Associate’s Degree – with coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Business related areas.
Job Experience:
1-2 years of accounting related experience.
