The Spartanburg Regional Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System (SRHS), dedicated to advancing health and wellness throughout the Upstate of South Carolina. Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Operations, the Senior Financial Analyst I – Foundation is a key contributor to the financial integrity and strategic success of the SRHS Foundation. This role applies generally accepted accounting principles to perform complex financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting functions. The analyst will manage financial records for all grants, collaborate with departments across SRHS, and identify opportunities for process improvement.

This position requires a detail-oriented, analytical thinker who can translate financial data into actionable insights and support the Foundation’s mission to enhance healthcare access and outcomes in the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial schedules, journal entries, reconciliations, and reports
  • Develop and maintain workpapers for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Analyze and document business requirements to improve financial processes
  • Oversee budgets and financial reporting for all Foundation-managed grants
  • Collaborate with SRHS departments to maintain accurate grant financial records
  • Identify areas for operational and financial improvement
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
  • Support the development and execution of strategic financial initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or related field (e.g., Master of Accountancy or MBA)

Experience:

  • 5–10 years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or nonprofit sectors

Licensure/Certifications:

  • CPA or related certification
