Description
Working within the framework of the philosophy and objectives set forth by the Director of Transplant Services, the Nurse Manager for the solid organ transplant program is accountable for the supervision, monitoring and evaluation of the transplant program staff. Responsible for the clinical and business operations of the program. This position requires an advanced level of expertise and overall understanding of organ transplantation including knowledge and understanding of regulatory standards (CMS, UNOS, JC). Oversees compliance with internal policies and external regulatory agencies. Utilizing a wide range of alternatives in problem solving situations, demonstrates a high degree of professional competence and skill. Under the direction of the Medical and Surgical Director, responsibility involves coordination of interdisciplinary medical care delivery system involving medical disciplines as well as ancillary programs; assessment of appropriate medical intervention for effective use of resources. Oversees and monitors the quality of transplant care in partnership with the Medical Center QA/PI program. Additional responsibilities include assessing and monitoring medical case management protocols to maintain effective long-term patient management, development and implementation of educational materials and programs for patients, nursing staff and physicians. Development and implementation of clinical protocols, and policy and procedures. Community education and public relations. Transplant donor/recipient coordination and liaison function with organ procurement agencies.
Salary range: $140,200 – $331, 800 ( annually)
