Description

Job Description:
- Prepares and dispenses medication orders for patients.
- (a) Reviews patient profile for allergies and adverse reactions.
- (b) Reviews comprehensive drug data file to evaluate orders for drug-drug interactions, accuracy in drug selection, dose and frequency.
 
- Discusses questionable medication orders with Attending Physicians.
- Ensures correct compounding and mixing of special formulas, chemotherapy and sterile IV products.
- Provides drug information to patients, nurses, physicians, trainees and other employees.
- Ensures all legal and professional requirements are adhered to for narcotics and other controlled substances.
- Supervises, mentors and assists in training pharmacy technicians, interns and new pharmacists.

Education/Experience Required:
- Two (2) years of experience in a hospital with unit dose, IV additive, chemotherapy and computerization preferred
- B.S. Degree/Pharm D in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy.
- M.S. Degree a plus
Registration/Certification:
- Must be licensed in Massachusetts.
- Board Certification preferred.
Pay Range:
$42.93 – $66.95
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
