Paramedic-Mobile Integrated Health
Description
Position Summary
This position functions independently as the Mobile Integrated Health paramedic for the Heart Failure Clinic and is responsible for the care of identified Heart Failure patients within our community. The paramedic provides patient care while promoting safety and efficiency of Mobile Integrated Health operations. The paramedic performs under the direct supervision of Medical Control Physician, either by continuous radio contract or direct consultation, providing a professional standard of care and performing any protocols and/or procedures approved for us by Community Paramedicine. The practice of MIH-CP is focused on assessment, participation in an existing, multidisciplinary, interprofessional treatment plan, and communication with and referral to other members of the treatment team based on changing patient’s needs.
Minimum Requirements
Education
· High school diploma with certificate
Experience
· Minimum of 3 years full-time experience in a 9-1-1 system functioning at the paramedic level of practice in any setting over any period of time OR 3 years full-time experience in a comprehensive (non-critical access) emergency department required.
License/Registration/Certifications
· SC DHEC-Paramedic certification
· National Registry Paramedic (except for SC DHEC certified Paramedic who are not required to maintain national registry)
· BLS- Healthcare Provider
· Valid driver license with no more than 2 at fault or moving violations in a three-year period.
· ACLS- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
· Certified Community Paramedic (CP-C) or other CAMTS designated provider within 1 year of hire and maintained for duration of employment.
· North Carolina EMT-Paramedic required within one year of hire.

· Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Preferred Experience

Core Job Responsibilities
· Respects patients’ rights and confidentiality and complies with all HIPAA and SRHS policies.
· Provide patient care per protocols, transfer orders, and state regulations.
· Safely operate vehicle in all weather conditions.
· Complete electronic and paper documentation accurately and completely for each patient encounter.
· Provides quality patient care and education in accordance with Mobile Integrated Health HFC policies and state regulations as approved by Medical Director.
· Provides age specific and culturally appropriate patient care through knowledge of growth and development.
· Maintains all required certification and attends required in-service training to maintain base knowledge and skills.
· Work in all weather conditions which may include extremes in temperature and precipitation.
· Interprets data, reads monitors, and responds with correct interventions to ensure safe patient care.
· Participate in quality improvement processes within the department.
· Administers medications safely, correctly, and per policy.
· Maintains a clean environment to include base and maintaining vehicles in a mission ready status. Accountable for ensuring supply levels are restocked and clean at the beginning of the shift and as needed throughout the shift.
· Maintains the ability to understand, utilize, and efficiently integrate technology for patient assessment, clinical interventions, and physician consults, and for data collection.
· Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to speak English in good, understandable terms.
· Knowledge of healthcare, EMS systems, and other regulating organizations including but not limited to local, state, and federal regulations required.
· Other Duties as assigned
· Must not have any physical, emotional, or mental impairment to prevent them for riding, driving, or operating in a company owned vehicle or administering patient care.
· Work areas may include tight spaces and poorly lit conditions.
· Requires exposure to possible unpleasant conditions and/or handling contaminated materials.
