Overview

Under direct supervision of the Patient Care Hostess Lead in Nutritional Services collects menus and delivers trays to patients. Patients are always assisted with each meal, with the tray set-up. Attends to all patient food service needs, including nourishments and snacks. Act as a liaison between the patient, the Nutritional Services Department, and Patient Care team for communication of all patient food needs. Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the supervisor.

Responsibilities

Menu Collection and Tray Delivery:

  • Under the direct supervision of the Patient Care Hostess Lead in Nutritional Services, efficiently collect menus from patients and ensure timely delivery of trays.
  • Ensure that each patient is assisted with tray set-up for every meal, adhering to established protocols and dietary guidelines.

Patient Assistance:

  • Attend to all patient food service needs, including the provision of nourishments and snacks, with utmost care and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate empathy and professionalism while interacting with patients, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction during mealtimes.

Liaison Duties:

  • Serve as a communication link between patients, the Nutritional Services Department, and the Patient Care team, ensuring seamless coordination of all patient food requirements.
  • Facilitate effective communication channels to address any concerns or special dietary needs of patients promptly and efficiently.

Adherence to Protocols:

  • Adhere to all established protocols, policies, and procedures related to patient food service and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper sanitation of equipment and workstations, in compliance with hygiene standards.

Flexibility and Collaboration:

  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to undertake additional duties or responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Nutritional Services Department.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure a holistic approach to patient care and satisfaction.

Professional Conduct:

  • Uphold professional conduct at all times, demonstrating respect, confidentiality, and integrity in interactions with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and regulatory guidelines governing patient care and food service delivery.

Qualifications

On-the-job training provided for the actual position. Ability to read & follow oral & written instructions & established policies and procedures. Must have Excellent Customer Service Skills and some basic diet knowledge.
