Description
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for providing clinical and technical support assisting the physicians in the provision of medical care to patients for full scope of Orthopaedic services. The duties of a medical assistant involve completing routine patient care Clinical duties include, but not limited to: preparing patients for visits, assisting physicians during visits and coordinating patient treatment plans at time of discharge. The MA is responsible for providing basic DME fitting, Ultrasound, or other procedure set up and support, blood draws, specimen collection and preparation depending on clinical and provider needs. The MA will provide support with charting, billing, data collections, authorizations, inbasket messaging and other duties as assigned by his/her direct or indirect supervisor. Administrative duties include, but not limited to scheduling appointments, calling patients to confirm appointments, updating and or verifying insurance. Required to float to all UCLA Orthopaedic Surgery Clinics as needed. Salary Range: $27.24-$35.94/hour
