Job Description
General Summary
University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Group (UM CRMG), a member of the University of Maryland Medical System with locations in southern Maryland, is looking for an experienced BE/BC Internal Medicine trained Primary Care Physician to serve as Regional Medical Director of a growing multi-specialty group practice.
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
- This position is expected to devote approximately 25% time served as the Executive Physician to the employed group
- Approximately 75% of time is devoted to providing direct patient care in an ambulatory setting
- Member of the UM CRMG Executive Leadership Team, the Regional Medical Director for Physician Services, partners with the UM CRMC Chief Medical Officer in the assigned region, and other UMPN Clinical leaders
- Define, plan, develop, implement, and oversee clinical programs and systems to guide and attain the goals of UM CRMG, University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) and the assigned UMMS Region
- Serves as a dyad partner with Director of Operations with focus on practitioner relations and performance.
- Shares in the responsibilities for leading providers in achieving CRMG practice goals
- Establishes clinical practices and performance standards in collaboration with Director of Operations and UM CRMC CMO.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- MD or DO
- Master’s degree with management experience in a multi-specialty group practice or Health Care related area preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- A minimum of 10 years of clinical practice experience and five years of physician leadership/management experience with a significant track record of progressively responsible positions in complex health-related organizations. Current active clinical and patient care involvement is preferred. Demonstrates ability to build and inspire high-performing leadership teams.
