Description

This position requires an advanced level of expertise and overall understanding of organ transplantation for the organ type specified functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate “standardized procedures” (SP). By using the SPs the NP is able to 1) change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior and physical condition, and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725); 2) provide and coordinate the care of the transplant and/or organ failure patients; Primary responsibility is for the clinical case management of the transplant recipient involving all phases of the transplant process, from initial referral throughout patient follow-up. “Standardized procedure(s)” outline the requirements for supervision. The Nurse Practitioner reports to the Medical & Surgical Directors of the transplant program for clinical practice and Nurse Manager of the transplant program for administrative & transplant program issues. Overall job performance is evaluated jointly by the Medical and Surgical Directors and the Nurse Manager of the transplant program. Salary range :$199,445 – $238,366 (annually)
