RNs are eligible to receive a $10,000 sign on bonus. (A 2-year commitment period is required. The Bonus payout occurs over the 2-year period.)
The Registered Nurse-First Assistant provides direct assistance to the surgeon(s) during surgical procedures.The RN First Assistant may be scheduled to function in the scrub or circulating role when not assigned to FA duties.
Positions patient to give best exposure for surgical procedure, using stabilizing equipment when necessary, while maximizing patient comfort and safety.
Provides visualization of the operative site using appropriate method, including manipulation of tissue and materials, retraction, sponging, suctioning, and irrigation.
Utilizes appropriate technique to achieve temporary and permanent hemostasis.
Assists with body plane closure, application of wound dressings, and securing of drainage systems.
Licenses: Registered Nurse licensed in NC or a compact state.
Certifications required: Current RN First Assistant certification is required. AHA Basic Life Support life safety required upon hire and maintained thereafter.
Minimum Work Experience: 1 year previous experience as RNFA is desired. 2 years previous experience as an OR circulator RN is desired.

2. Ability to see colors, see at least 1 mm squares.
3. Ability to hear and distinguish heart, lung, and bowel sounds.
4. Ability to reach overhead.
5. Ability to remain calm, continue to function effectively and develop priorities during stressful situations.
6. Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, visitors, healthcare team, leadership and others.
7. Ability to use sensory and cognitive functions to process and prioritize information, treatment and follow-up.
7. Ability to use fine motor skills.
8. Ability to move and operate equipment and carry supplies.
9. Ability to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
10. Ability to remain focused and organized.
