Venice Family Clinic is a leader in providing comprehensive, high-quality primary health care to people in need with compassion, dignity and respect. In November 2021, Venice Family Clinic merged with South Bay Family Health Care, uniting more than a century of experience helping patients regardless of their income, insurance or immigration status. The organization now has more than 500 staff who serve 45,000 people from the Santa Monica Mountains through the South Bay. The NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate “standardized procedures” (SP). By using the SPs the NP is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior and physical condition, and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725). Provide and coordinate the care of General Surgery patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care. Participate in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provide education and support as well as make appropriate referrals. Document services rendered.
The Venice Family Clinic is a community health center that provides quality health care to people in need. Our physicians and advanced care practitioners are committed to the populations we serve and to the mission of the clinic. Under the leadership of the Chief Medical Officer, the Simms /Mann Site Clinical Director provides the majority of their primary care sessions at the Simms/Mann Health and Wellness Center, evaluating, treating, and making appropriate diagnostic and specialty referrals for our patients. The Simms/Mann site Clinical Director is an integral part of the clinic staff, solving issues related to operational and clinical services. In addition to staff NP clinical duties, the position will involve includes attending coordinating team meeting, running site meetings with the site manager, facilitating change and innovation projects at the site, and helping the staff resolve patient complaints. Because the Venice Family Clinic has robust volunteer and medical training programs, the Simms/Mann Clinical Director has a unique role as a liaison to the affiliated residency programs. This responsibility includes providing a positive role model, ensuring that volunteers understand Venice Family Clinic procedures and providing continuity of care for patients. The Simms/Mann Clinical Director works cooperatively with all clinic departments including nursing, pharmacy, clinic coordinators, health education and behavioral health staff. The position requires flexibility in days and hours for clinical care. This is a career Nurse Practitioner 2 (NP 2) position. The Clinical Site Director position is an 80-100% FTE position.
