Inpatient Pharmacy Operations Supervisor

Location: University of Colorado Hospital, Aurora, CO

 

Summary:

Supervises daily staff activities for inpatient pharmacy operations.

Work Schedule: Full Time, 80 hours/pay period, Days

Responsibilities:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy Operations, this position is responsible for the overall management of the inpatient central pharmacy. This individual will be charged with developing operational workflows designed to provide evidence-based and cost-effective medication dispensing, monitoring, and distribution. A solid working knowledge of USP 795/797/800 standards is required in order to be successful in this role.

The Inpatient Pharmacy Operations Supervisor will have general oversight of the automation (Pyxis) team and will lead the installation of carousels within the next fiscal year. This individual will provide leadership and oversight of training, education, and competency of pharmacy staff. The Pharmacy Operations Supervisor works closely with the rest of the inpatient leadership team, including the Pharmacy Purchasing Manager, the Clinical Pharmacist Supervisors, the Manager of Pharmacy Technical Support, and the Medication Safety Team, amongst others.

 

The Pharmacy Operations Supervisor will be heavily involved with our PGY1/2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) residency and may have the opportunity to serve as Residency Program Coordinator (RPC).

Requirements:

 

  • Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Pharmacist.
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years of post-graduate experience.
  • Preferred:  PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Pharmacy training required. PGY2 in Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership residency training preferred.

The pay range for this position is: $54.31 - $81.47 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
