Responsibilities

The UCLA Blood and Platelet Center is seeking to hire a Hospital Laboratory Technician 1. Major duties include:

•Perform whole blood and apheresis collection
•Check vitals, such as blood pressure, cold temperature, and hemoglobin to verify donor eligibility
•Process blood components and samples for transport
•Perform donor recruitment in order to increase blood collections and meet hospital needs
•Drive the Blood & Platelet Center team to and from mobile sites (10-passenger van)
•Assist with the set-up and break-down of mobile blood drives
•Perform donor registration and data entry using ElDorado Donor system
•Perform daily quality control of equipment and supplies

Note:
•Your shift may start as early as 7:00am or as late as 12:00pm
•Subject to DMV Pull
