Receives emergency and non-emergency requests for transport. Determines urgency of calls and initiates emergency personnel action.
Work Schedule: Full Time Flex
Responds to calls for service from hospitals, medical facilities, the public, and other agencies via telephone, radio and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
Coordinates patient transport and transfer. Prioritizes calls and dispatches required units and/or agencies. Assists customers with transportation issues, evaluating needs and condition of the patient.
Schedules additional personnel (Bariatric, CCORN, etc.) as required. Utilizes communication equipment and documents actions.
Generates reports using transfer-based technology (Medlert, Zoll command CAD, or other comparable technology)
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
- Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or GED. ICS 100 and 700 must be completed before starting to work independently.
Required Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. EMD Certification within 6 months of hire.
Minimum Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.
The pay range for this position is: $23.49 - $30.53 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
