Position summary:

The CMMG Director of Regional Practices and Specialty Services in Rumford provides day-to-day operational leadership, business and project leadership, and analytic support for all CMMG Regional Practices and Specialty Services in Rumford; works closely with the Dyad Physician Leader and Managing Physicians; assists the Service Line Directors in the successful implementation and execution of strategic goals and demonstrates outstanding customer service skills on behalf of Central Maine Medical Group (CMMG).  The Director promotes teamwork with physicians, APS providers, and personnel across the entire healthcare spectrum and supports the mission, vision, values, and policies of CMH, CMMC and CMMG.

Essential duties:

  • Serves as the champion of the patient experience

  • Engages patients utilizing exceptional customer service practices in alignment with the Five Must Haves;

    • Greet people with a smile, friendly eye contact and say hello

    • Take people where they are going, rather than point or give directions

    • Use key words at key times.  “Is there anything else I can do for you?”

    • Foster an attitude of gratitude.

    • Round with reason and purpose.

·Provides direct operational management, project management and business development support to managers and managing physicians within the CMMG based Regional Practices including but not limited to preparation of business plans and financial pro forma for new operations and coordination of new facility planning.

·Coordinates the preparation of operating and capital budget for appropriate region.

·Supports Service Line leaders in the strategic growth of specialty and surgical business in the region.

·Develops systems to monitor manager’s performance against goals consistent with the strategic initiatives of Central Maine.

·Ensures that all providers contracts and agreements are properly executed including but not limited to monitoring and periodic adjustments to the physician compensation plan to reflect changes in provider status and current compensation agreements, student loan repayment, monitoring of CME expenditures, salary advance agreements and coordination of benefits with Human Resources.

·Participates in the development, monitoring and managing of key practice benchmarks.

·Participates as a key member of the Primary Care and Outpatient Services management team in identifying, developing, implementing and monitoring initiatives that will ensure that CMMG establishes and maintains the status of “Practice of Choice”.

·Provides support to managers by facilitating a cooperative climate with other departments including but not limited to Human Resources, Purchasing, IT, Plant Ops, Housekeeping, Security, and Finance.

·Coordinates Management Training/ Orientation/ New Practice Set Up.

·Facilitates and attends work groups, interdisciplinary team and task force meetings as directed and assigned.

·Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and functional under stressful situations.

·Maintains good working relationship with all staff members with organization

·Represents CMMG and the hospital in community health-related projects.

·Acts as consultant to CMMG President, Vice President and respective senior management for employee relations issues regarding performance management of CMMG providers.

·Mediation consultant for conflicts that occur between CMMG employees and management to assist in the resolution of misunderstandings, facilitate communication and to promote effective working relationships within the policy and guidelines established within the CMH system.

·Represents CMMG and the hospital in community health-related projects.

·Customer Service: Interacts with all individuals in a consistent manner, providing attention, support, and assistance to foster an environment of exceptional personal service.

Education and Experience:

  • Masters in Hospital & Health Administration, Business Administration, or similar field preferred, but not required.
  • Five plus (5+) years’ experience in medical group leadership, hospital administration, or similar healthcare setting with FACMPE or CMPE preferred.
  • Day-to-day operations experience, project leadership, operational and capital budget accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience working both independently and in team based environments
  • Must demonstrate reliability and accountability to the organization, team members and patients
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Proficient with basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Office
  • Experience and proficiency in QI process and implementation preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure with precision and accuracy and to handle multiple projects simultaneously
