CHIP/Cath Lab Lead Tech

The CHIP/Cath Lab Lead Tech performs diagnostic and interventional Cardiovascular and Peripheral Vascular procedures. Works with Cardiologists functioning as an expert scrub tech/assistant. Assists during diagnostic, therapeutic, high risk intervention procedures such as angiograms, angioplasties, stent placements, CTO (chronic total occlusion) revascularization procedures, performed on patients with complex coronary anatomy, severe comorbidities, and/or poor hemodynamics.
Supports the Baptist Health mission, vision, and values and must demonstrate a commitment to provide and oversee staff education and mentorship to promote and maintain quality program outcomes. Works in a collegial and collaborative relationship with cardiologists, anesthesia, nurse, and other team health professionals. Promotes the development of collaborative relationships with peers and other health professionals by articulating practice issues and communication in a professional and constructive manner. Advocates for patient safety at all times. Ability to work with minimum supervision within the guidelines set up by the department. Must be willing and able to work in a face paced, frequently changing environment.
The team lead is responsible for assisting the supervisor with training, mentoring, providing education to new employees, current employees and students.
The team lead is responsible for maintaining inventory, charge capture, and quality assurance programs.
The team lead is responsible for ongoing education related to competency, equipment management, and management of patient safety including hemodynamically stable.
Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology School
AART (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred or within 6 months of hire date.
Licensed to administer ionizing radiation by the Arkansas Department of Health.
Current CPR certification.
ACLS certification acquired within 6 months of hire date.
3-5 years experience in Structural Heart/Cath Lab
Prior leadership experience preferred
Prior experience with teaching/orienting new staff preferred
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
