Pediatrics/Women's Unit - Charge Nurse Inpatient - Full Time - Nights

Yuma Regional Medical Center is a 406-bed facility located in sunny, southwestern Arizona. We have a main hospital campus, off-site cancer center, outpatient laboratory services, and numerous clinics as a part of our medical group, including a primary care facility in the Foothills.

Position Summary: If you are seeking variety, Peds/Women’s is the unit for you. The Peds/Women’s unit at YRMC is unique and requires the drive and compassion to care for a variety of patients. Pediatric patients make up the majority of our admissions and range from newborn to teens. Other patients you will care for in Peds; Women’s gynecological surgery patients who undergo such surgeries as Hysterectomy, Endometrial ablation, or D&C (length of stay is 1 -2 days). Patients who have had bariatric surgery (gastric bypass) and require our care before discharge (length of stay is 2 - 3 days). When Labor and Delivery are busy, we provide Mother/Baby couplet care. A couplet is a healthy mother and baby, which allow the mother and her newborn to remain together and stay in our unit for 24 hours. We provide orientation and education to all areas of care.

The Charge Nurse Inpatient leads people, effectively uses time, equipment and supplies to maximize throughput of the surgical patient. Recruits, trains, and engages perioperative staff while engaging medical staff colleagues to strengthen relationships while continuing to work to meet or exceed organizational and national patient safety and quality goals.

Education Required: Arizona or compact state RN license; BLS; PALS;

Experience Required:3+ years of related experience

Work Schedule: 12-hours, Nights, Varied
