Responsibilities

Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, is now accepting applications for a full-time, employed faculty position in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor as Director of Advanced Heart Failure.

The successful candidate will be based at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia and will have responsibility as a leader of Advanced Heart Failure across the Jefferson Health enterprise. In addition to this enterprise leadership role, the Director will be the Medical Director of the Jefferson Cardiac Transplantation Program and will be involved in inpatient and outpatient care of patients with advanced heart failure.

Expertise in the care of the heart transplant patient as well as the patient who has a mechanical cardiac assist device is required. The candidate will also direct the enterprise’s approach to population healthcare in heart failure and will have a major teaching role of cardiology fellows, resident physicians and medical students.

Applicants must have a MD/DO degree, be board-certified in Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure and should possess or be eligible to practice medicine in Pennsylvania by the time the appointment starts.
