Havasu Regional Medical Center

The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor supervises the pharmacy technicians in addition to providing technician coverage during their shifts. The Supervisor also insures that all activities are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures and are carried out in the highest achievable level of competence in a manner demonstrating concern and consideration. This position will insure that new employees are provided the supportive pharmaceutical training as well as ongoing training for current employees so that all staff are operating to the highest level of competence. The supervisor may assign duties appropriate for the job descriptions to insure that the proper coverage is maintained for a supportive and cooperative work environment within and outside the Pharmacy Department. The supervisor will also be in charge of scheduling pharmacy technicians for their assigned shifts in a fair and equitable manner. Any deviation from normal training or inability to perform duties will be brought to the attention of the director for review. It is the director's decision to discipline or take corrective actions as necessary.

Job Requirements

Minimum EducationHigh School Diploma or GED required. Trade or Vocational schooling preferred.

Required Licenses[Arizona, United States] Pharmacy Technicians
On Hire - Current Arizona pharmacy technician license in good standing.

Required SkillsREQUIRED CERTIFICATIONSPTCB Certification required within one year of hire.

Must have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective human relations skills are required for interfacing with team members, all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and other contacts. Must possess the ability to effectively function in a stressful environment. Must possess the ability to use the following equipment; Telephone/Overhead Paging System/Fax Machine/Calculator/Computer. As pertinent to the position, must be able to use computer, telephone, calculator and adapt to new technology as it becomes available and necessary for the job. Must have a positive attitude, even temperament in stress/conflict situations.

Minimum Work ExperiencePrefer one year experience as a hospital pharmacy technician or previous supervisory position.
