The Perioperative Safety and Quality Improvement Project Manager will be responsible for the coordination/management of a diverse set of initiatives to ensure that the procedural care delivered by providers in the Perioperative setting is safe for patients and of the highest quality. It will lead specific area initiatives focused on patient safety, quality improvement and regulatory compliance. The Manager will work closely with Perioperative leadership and other clinical departments (Quality & Safety; Nursing Education; Regulatory Departments) to plan, coordinate, implement, and sustain quality and safety projects. The incumbent will coordinate implementation efforts in complex clinical environments that involve multiple stakeholders.
Full-Time 40 Hours/Week Days
1. Education & Training: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a BSN in nursing and a Master's degree in nursing (or at least enrolled in MSN program).
OPTION I Four years of progressively responsible nursing experience on the nursing staff of an accredited acute care hospital, which included some experience in a lead capacity for a specialty area.
OPTION II One year as a charge nurse, Manager or equivalent supervisory position in a healthcare facility. Knowledge of: Modern principles, techniques, and procedures of nursing; nursing processes and its application in patient care; perioperative regulatory requirements; principles and techniques of effective supervision and administration; principles of quality assurance and research; problem solving techniques, team building principles, and infection control as it relates to surgery.
Ability to: Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and review the activities of assigned nursing services; supervise, instruct, motivate, and train professional and nonprofessional employees; analyze needs of nursing services in terms of personnel, equipment, and supplies; identify opportunities for improvement in nursing operations consistent with contemporary nursing trends; establish and maintain systems of records and reports; establish and maintain cooperative relationships; apply management principles; relate and work effectively with others; communicate effectively in verbal and written English.
2. Experience:¿ 5+ Years Nursing experience and progressively responsible nursing experience in Perioperative Services.
3. License, Certification & Registration: Current RN license in the Commonwealth of PA.
4. Other Requirements: Knowledge of computer and database development. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to prioritize and function effectively with teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and access programs (Epic- preferably).
