Under the general supervision of the Manager and Supervisor, representative will be responsible for one of the following functions for the UCLA FPG Financial Clearance Unit: Insurance Verification, Authorization/Referral Management, Add On, and Patient Advocacy. Through these functions, the representative will be a vital component in the completion of pre-service financial clearance and patient registration practices across the health system. Specifics include verifying benefits and eligibility (online, by phone, or fax) and entering the insurance benefits into to CareConnect prior to appointments; determining patient liabilities (co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles); confirming and/or obtaining appropriate authorizations/referrals for scheduled visits; informing patients of their financial responsibility before their appointment; sending out confirmation letters with appropriate patient history forms; assisting in pre-registration for the appropriate clinics; verifying insurance billing addresses; photocopying; faxing; sorting mail; and special projects as assigned; assist with training desk staff on CareConnect (Missing Registration, Insurance Verification, and Authorization/Referral) work flow processes and other applicable needs; excellent customer service is provided to patients, faculty/staff, including outside vendors, insurance company representatives and registration representatives
