Full time position (80 hrs bi-weekly) available for an Inpatient & Outpatient Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner
The Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner is a registered professional who, under the sponsorship of a board certified oncologist and in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary health team is responsible for providing comprehensive care to our oncology patients at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and in the outpatient offices of Jefferson University Physicians Medical Oncology practice. The medical oncology Nurse Practitioner functions in an expanded role within the guidelines of the Nurse Practice Act, Departments of Medicine and Nursing and in accordance with the Nurse Practitioner clinical protocols.
- Monitor patient progress pre and post procedure.
- Educate patients and their family members on a variety of conditions.
- Triage patient phone calls.
- Work independently and collaboratively with other members of the Oncology services including physicians, Nurse Practitioners, medical assistants, administrative and scheduling staff, etc. to provide comprehensive care to oncology patients.
- Review laboratory and radiology studies with physicians.
Current Pennsylvania CRNP and RN License, current BLS Certification and MSN required.
Excellent communication skills.
2 Years of oncology experience required.
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner required.
2 years’ experience in an acute or ambulatory setting within the last 5 years.
OCN certified preferred.
