First Shift - 40 hours
JOB SUMMARY: Processes specimens for molecular or immunologic assays or culture. Performs microbiology, immunology, and molecular infectious disease tests. Performs tests and analyzes body fluids and tissue to provide high quality, comprehensive medical laboratory results in compliance with section policies and procedures.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Associate degree required. Experience preferred.
REPORTS TO: Section Manager or Assistant Section Manager
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification required.
1. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of patient laboratory test results.
2. Ensures quality of test results by following defined Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) procedures.
3. Ensures safety and compliance:
4. Maintains appropriate education to accomplish work objectives and maintain current certifications as applicable.
5. Ensures productive and efficient operations of the section and department.
6. Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
