The Infection Control Practitioner works in collaboration with the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Infection Control Council, Employee Health Services and Facilities and Environmental Services to develop and maintain comprehensive Infection (HAI); provision of education and promotion of evidence based practice to eliminate HAIs; and development of policies and procedures that are consistent with regulatory agencies, Joint Commission Standards and best practices. The Infection Control Practitioner serves as a consultant to all areas of the hospital with regard to infection prevention and control.
Experience in health research methodology including clinical protocol development, data management and improvement methods. Proficient as a presenter, teacher, facilitator, negotiator, and communicator. Must be able to demonstrate strong planning, organizational and computer skills. Certification in Infection Control by CBIC preferred. Previous JCAHO experience, DHEC experience preferred. Knowledge of current and anticipated regulatory changes related to Patient Safety and EOC. Knowledge of performance improvement principles. Flexibility in working with deadlines, changing priorities, various stakeholder groups, and with changing organizational imperatives. Analytical in the review and use of information related to infection control.
