Job Summary
The Advanced Practice Clinician (APC), as an employee of Valley Health System, functions as a medical provider. This full-time in-patient position is expected to assist with admissions, rounds, manage treatments, and discharges for patients of Hampshire Memorial Hospital. The scope of practice of any setting is detailed in the practice agreement written for each specific practice site and provider and signed between the APC and physician.

Qualifications
PA must be a graduate of a program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission for Physician Assistant Programs (ARC-PA)
OR
Graduate of a nationally accredited school of nursing with Bachelors in nursing and Masters Degree in advanced practice nursing.
A minimum of one (1) year of NP/PA clinical experience in an acute care environment is required
PA board certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
OR
NP board certified as an Adult/Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Recertification, if required is necessary
Possesses and maintains an unrestricted license to practice as a PA or an NP in West Virginia
Possesses and maintains an unrestricted DEA license to prescribe in West Virginia
Maintains and provides proof of CME requirements as put forth by the West Virginia Board of Medicine or the Joint Board of Nursing & Medicine.
Recertification, if required, is necessary

BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required *
* New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
ACLS Certification-required within 60 days of hire date

Computer skills. (i.e. software applications for documentation, data collection, and outcome measurement). Knowledgeable in the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological stages of human growth and development. Competent to provide assessment, care and treatment appropriate to the age group of patients served.
