Maintains files and office equipment.
Creates charts on admission to wound center and manages charts upon arrival to include flagging labs, radiology reports, etc.
Pre-registers patients, verifies insurance coverage, benefits, co-pays, and deductibles, calculates patient financial obligation and obtain and verifies the accuracy of authorization when required.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including week-ends and holidays to insure appropriateness and continuity of care for the patients of Sovah Health Danville.
Heartsaver CPR American Heart Association required or obtained within six (6) months of employment
Three (3) years of experience in clerical/office support role required
Previous experience with insurance and collections preferred
Previous experience in healthcare preferred
